Jeffrey T. Curtis
Director of Gardens and Grounds


Jeff Curtis joined the Preservation Society in 1985 as Assistant to the Grounds Supervisor.  In 1990, he became Grounds Supervisor, and today is Director of Gardens and Grounds.  He supervises a staff of 30 full-time and part-time employees who maintain more than 80 acres of gardens and grounds on the Society’s historic properties.

The Gardens and Grounds Department also operates several greenhouses in which it cultivates trees, plants and flowers that are used in the Society’s houses and grounds.

Curtis is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island College of Resource Development, with a degree in Greenhouse Management.  He is also a licensed arborist.
